Welcome!

Hello to all!  It's been quite a while since we've posted anything on the website, but our lives have been a whirlwind of activity lately.

First and foremost, LaLa has jumped through quite a few health related hurdles this year.  Last September, she was diagnosed with diabetes, which brought on cataracts in December.  She went completely blind, so we decided it would be best for her to have cataract surgery.  Well, we thought the issue would be behind us within a matter of 6-8 weeks, but boy were we wrong.

Our little girl gave us quite a scare when she flatlined after receiving anesthesia while undergoing preparation for surgery -- and this happened twice!  We then took her to A&M for tests and found out she desperately needed a pacemaker.  Once the pacemaker was in, she was able to achieve cataract surgery success!  After being totally blind for almost 5 months, she was able to see and sure tried making up for lost time.  Now she LOVES riding anywhere in the car -- as long as it's in the afternoon or evening.  She prefers leaving her morning to breakfast and napping.  We definitely owe Dr. Ring (in Dallas) and the team at A&M for saving our little girl from having to spend the rest of her little life in total blindness - and with a bad ticker.
We just returned from our annual trip to Mackinac Island, MI.  Both mothers joined us again this year and we had a wonderful time in the cool weather, enjoying the scenery and great food.  The pups REALLY enjoyed spending well-needed outdoor time taking walks and exploring the island.  As last year, they enjoyed riding in the burley bike trailer when Steve and I took the bikes out for a trip around the island.
The pups enjoyed gazing out over the waters surrounding Mackinac Island.
The November election and holidays are approaching fast.  I'm afraid we'll be spinning like tops by the time Christmas arrives.  So much to do -- so little time.  Here's hoping our friends and family are enjoying the superb Fall weather!  Love you all!
If you look up close, you'll see two sweet pups watching you.
